Description

The minimal design approach to EDArduino, and fully compatible with arduino. This is a 5V EDArduino running the 16MHz bootloader (select ‘Arduino pro mini′ within the Arduino software). EDArduino Pro Mini does not come with connectors populated so that you can solder in any connector or wire with any orientation you need.

We recommend first time EDArduino users start with the Duemilanove. It’s a great board that will get you up and running quickly. The EDArduino Pro series is meant for users that understand the limitations of system voltage (5V), lack of connectors, and USB off board.

We really wanted to minimize the cost of an EDArduino. The EDArduino Pro Mini is like the EDArduino Mini (same pin out) but to keep the cost low, we used all SMD components, made it two layer, etc. This board connects directly to the FTDI Basic Breakout board and supports auto-reset. The EDArduino Pro Mini also works with the FTDI cable but the FTDI cable does not bring out the DTR pin so the auto-reset feature will not work.

    These are really great Arduino modues. Prefect quality, works very stable. I use it everywhere instead of Uno due to really small size and no need to have on-board Serial – USB adapter. It even have now the pin 13 LED which you can blink just having the bare module. Perfect for small sensors, where UNO would be way too big!!! Just buy it, you will be really surprised how nice are these modules! I love them!

    Great build quality for the price. Unlike at other shops, the 3.3V Version comes with an 8MHz crystal as needed by specs.
    Headers come included (1×6 90 degrees and 2×12 Pin straight).

    The only absolutely small downside is that the modules come unmarked itself, but in marked bags. So make sure to make sure to mark the modules on the bottom on the provided silkscreen for 5V or 3.3V.

    Would (and will) buy again!

    Got 2, one 3.3v and one 5v, both unmarked, the bags were unmarked as well. Good build quality on the modules. One has a sparkfun logo on the back the other does not, didn’t found out yet if the 3.3v or the 5v has the logo though…

    Sometimes our packer will remark on it, if you can not figure out, please try to see the tiny crystal, marked AR is 5V/16mhz

    The 3.3v has a crystal marked 80W and the 5V version has a crystal marked AR

    Very happy with the 3.3V. Runs for 96 hours now on a 2200mAh single cell lipo, and the battery voltage is currently @ 4.05V. It reads a DHT11 sensor and sends the data via a 433 transmitter module every 1′. 8″ sleep cycles.

    These are perfect for lots of projects when you don’t want to remove the Arduino to make a new project, cost effective, and they all work really well. They don’t always mark the boards with the version, but they always write on the bag, so be sure to transfer the markings on the bag to the board itself.
